I'll never forget stuffing my first recipe blog positing with a ridiculously long and completely irrelevant feel-good backstory, along with the most obvious tips and unnecessarily detailed instructions I could fit so that it shows up in the top Google search results and I can serve ads that keep reloading the page every time someone has their hands covered in dough and is just trying to see how many teaspoons of salt they need to add so their phone gets just absolutely covered with dough and they can't see the screen, as well as baking my first soul-comforting savory stuffed pumpkin that's just so perfect for any Fall day. It was an early November day and my grandmother was visiting from the old country. The brisk autumn day had us turning the thermostat up for the first time that season. The unforgettable smell of the furnace burning up the dust that had settled throughout the Summer drifted through the rooms of the house. Now, if you don't have an electric furnace at home, steam heat will work just as well, as the dust that has collected on the radiators has a similar aroma when burning up.
