BASIC CYTRYNOWKA RECIPE (OLD STYLE)
Adapted from Lucyna Ćwierczakiewiczowa, 1885
- 10 Lemons
- 1 Liter Spirytus
- 2 1/4 Cups Water
- 1.76 Pounds Sugar
- Clean lemons properly to ensure all dirt and wax is removed.
- Place lemons in pot with Spirytus and let stand for 24 hours.
- The next day, prepare a simple syrup with the water and sugar and allow to come to room temperature.
- Remove the lemons and squeeze juice into the Spirytus. Mix in the simple syrup and stir to combine.
- Chill and serve.
